The Wakefield Rotary Club is pleased to announce that Catherine Dhingra has been inducted as the newest member of the service club. Dhingra is the Program Coordinator for Wakefield’s WAKE UP Substance Use Prevention Coalition. A native of Cumberland, Maine, she resides in Wakefield with her husband Vake and two children Nikhil and Rhys. “I’ve always been drawn to opportunities to give back to my community. I was inspired with the Wakefield Rotary Club when I went to do presentations on behalf of the Health Department . Wakefield Rotary Club President Joe Buscaino noted, “Catherine is such a great source of energy and ideas. We know that substance use affects so many people and we look forward to Catherine’s suggestions on how we can help our local families.” Within Rotary, Dhingra is most interested in working on education and literacy projects, as well as peace and conflict resolution, and the Homelessness and Hunger Initiative.
